Friends who call out names into the empty air,
Dogs who wear ballerina costumes to dance
And prance for their owners without ne'er a care,
Their bought collars are shiny yet are threadbare;

The thethered leash, sometimes short and sometimes long,
But whose is the unseen hand that holds them there?
Fed on haggis, fat and bloated full of gas,
Skin of pig and full of wind that needs to pass,

The sound of silence may joust with violence
Along the pathways and highways of such sense,
Playing at war, numbed children fight in the streets,
Who knows what is procured in the way of sweets?

The streets and steps whether season wet or dry,
Pick a sore of society you defy.

Sheep sheared until the hours of daylight,
Cucks who swap gender for a nest for the night,
O, starry night, what do you conceal tonight?
What is in the dark that can move with no light?

Signalmen play their pipes in a smoking song,
Their fire and desire merging into one,
Newly shined pigs oiled and rubbed until dry,
Their squeals can be heard in a shadowed sty,

Rustled feathers of unrest, jest in pretence,
But who knows what evil lies in their defence?
Hooded and clawed tawny owls to sweep the night
And fly and toot to all what is in their sight,

The streets and steps whether season wet or dry,
Pick a sore of society you defy.

Robins circling in perpetuity,
Sometimes bird of one, sometimes a gang of three,
Twittering and whistling to mask thievery
While their companions unseen do flee,

What is bought, what is sold, what is the story
that here unfolds? a lesson in the making:
What is stolen is less than is what taken,
For a man's gold ring may be his wife's blessing,

Manipulation masked in desperation,
Simply to take a poor man's health and station,
Living in this wild forest as he must do,
Will he open or close his eyes to the truth?

The streets and steps whether season wet or dry,
Pick a sore of society you defy.
